1. In 2009 they off shored the majority of their privacy work to the Philippines, for cost reasons.

2. Originally they started as a non profit, however they converted to a profit company in 2008. A fact they failed to mention to many customers.

3. Out of 500 complaints in 2013, they took action in only 3 cases

4. FTC fined them for deceptive practices

5. 2006 Study showed that companies certified by Truste were actually more likely to breach your data privacy rights.

6. You are paying for their logo.

In reality do consumer really care about Truste or their logo? Not really.
